December Already!

Mr. J. Wright - Dec. 10th, 2018

Friday, December 14th, 2018:
Dalkeith has received a kind donation from “Le group construction Dominion.” They are sponsoring a catered lunch of Portuguese Chicken for the whole school. The lunch is free but we ask for donation of non-perishable for our food drive in exchange. Please Note: The cafeteria will not be offering an alternative lunch that day.

Monday, December 17th, 2018:
Annual tree trimming plus milk and TIMBITS for the students. Our good friend and local Tim Horton’s owner Manfred Raaber is providing the whole school with Timbits that morning. N.B. Timbits do not contain nuts but are made at Tim Hortons. Students with nut allergies will be provided an alternative treat.

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018:
Annual Breakfast with Santa in the Gym. Once again our good friends at The Generations Foundation will be providing a waffle and cereal breakfast for all the students of Dalkeith Elementary. Please note, this breakfast COULD replace the snack but NOT lunch. Furthermore, this is not a dress down day but students will be permitted to wear their “Dalkeith” gym shirt in place of their polo. Sorry parents, this is a student only event.
Again the breakfast is free but we ask for a donation of non-perishable food for our food drive.

Thursday, December 20th, 2018:
Christmas Concert begins at 1:30 p.m. sharp! Door-crashers be advised that the doors will only be opened for you at 1:00 p.m. no earlier. Also, sorry there is no reserved seating. Parents and Grandparents are welcome. Related image

Friday, December 21st, 2018:
Last regular day before the holidays.

Monday, January 7th, 2019:
First day back after the holidays

On behalf of the staff, I wish you all a safe and restful holiday and wish a healthy and prosperous New Year to you and your whole family.

Winter is Coming! (no royalties owed, we're stating fact)

Mr. J. Wright - Nov. 13th, 2018 (Nov. 20th last year when posted)

winterIt is good practice to have your child leave a pair of indoor shoes at the school to change into from their outdoor boots. Boots are not appropriate footwear for the entire school day. Furthermore, the children do enjoy playing in the snow. Snow pants will ensure that they will stay warm and dry for the afternoon classes (as will appropriate gloves, hats and scarves). As a policy at all schools, the practice of throwing snowballs is not permitted. If students are in school, they are expected to be dressed appropriately to be able to play outside.

P.S. Having an extra pair of socks at school or in their bag is ALWAYS a good idea.

From the EMSB: In the event of a school closure due to poor weather, we immediately post this news on our Twitter feed @Englishmtl
